Physical Education classes are designed to develop skills and healthy practices that will help students maintain fitness throughout their lives.
Early in the fall we assess fitness levels in the following areas: Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, Muscular Strength and Muscular Endurance. From these assessments we develop a baseline to set personal fitness goals. We also explore activities designed to improve all areas of fitness.
Our goal is that our students will increase their scores throughout the year on their baseline results. In a supportive and cooperative environment, our students will be encouraged to adopt life-long habits that increase their likelihood of exercising in the future. Students will understand that regular exercise can provide for a person’s mental, physical, and social health.
