The Visual Arts Department at Manatee School For the Arts provides something for everyone! Introductory classes for new students or those without prior arts training, at both the middle and high school level, offer the chance to learn the fundamental concepts inherent in all higher level classes. Multiple levels of classes are offered throughout the curriculum in several disciplines, including drawing, painting, cartooning, as well as fine craft areas, such as sculpture, jewelry making, fiber exploration and costuming. Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) in eighth grade and Advanced Placement (AP) in high school as well as portfolio classes are available and encouraged for students seeking further study in college in the Visual Arts field as preparation for applying to a college level program.
