Computer Graphics - 7th / 8th grade Exploring Art
Through problem solving and experimentation using various graphic tools on the computer, the students were able to create a button design which exhibited strong artistic elements, as well as communicating the importance of good health. Students could draw their own original images or construct them from digital photographs which they took in class. Students used a combination of two different computer programs when working on this project, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. A professional photographer came into the classroom to provide help and expertise in taking a good photo as well as providing some helpful tips and tricks when working with digital imagery in Photoshop. The finished computer generated designs were output on a color printer and the students created wearable buttons, using a button maker, to help promote good nutrition.
