Computer Graphics - 6th grade
Students developed a computer generated post card design that communicates how important it is to help conserve our environment. This project has a cross curriculum tie-in to science. The students learned how the qualities and characteristics of art media, techniques, and processes can be used to enhance communication of experiences and ideas, using a postcard design. They used use the interrelated elements of art and the principles of design to improve the communication of ideas. Stylized after the book “The Lorax” by, Dr. Seuss, The students created original graphics for Tuffula Trees and embellished the design with real cotton seeds which they could take home and plant. Through the means of both visual and verbal communication, and multi-media art techniques, the students were able to communicate an important global message that we can all help and do our part to save and give back to the environment.
