| Students analyzed several original digital images taken at Selby Gardens in Sarasota, FL. The students researched which filter effects either separately or in combination with one another produced the best results. A class discussion of famous art and artists that produced famous flower painting was included in this lesson. Students read aloud certain portions from the book O’Keefee by Britta Benke to help them help focus in on and identify a full frame type of art, which the students used to stylize and fashion their own digital images. The students selected the digital photograph of their choice and applied various filter effects found on the computer, using Adobe Illustrator. The students adhered their finished image to a recycled tile, which was then sealed for protection, and the finished piece could also serve as a decorative coaster. |
