Computer Graphics - 6th grade
The students used a thematic approach in developing an animated fishbowl design on the computer, using Adobe Illustrator. Review of books and films provided valuable resource information for the students. Manipulative, hands-on materials were used in the mocking up stage of this project. The students took their finished computer generated fishbowl designs and mocked them up on a straw, which they could then spin between heir hands, showing the illusion of animation. Students had to engage in problem solving and experiment with different ways to use the computer to create the final desired animated effect. Feedback from both the teacher and student peers helped in the initial design process of this project. Informal evaluation was given in the way of critiques and peer interaction as the students demonstrated a simple form of animation using their finished project design.
